Our Story
WTL was founded in 2020 by Michael Moshan and David Zuckerman, two tennis nuts determined to create more competitive playing opportunities in Westchester. At the time, local players faced limited options — expensive country clubs, structured USTA leagues, or casual hit-arounds that lacked real competition. Finding opponents felt nearly impossible; locating hitting partners was often a matter of luck. Players were scattered, disconnected, and frustrated. Sadness hung over Westchester's tennis community like a raincloud. It was time to change that.
With Michael's experience founding a successful tennis ladder in Brooklyn, and David's robust tennis network, the two saw an opportunity to build a ladder geared towards the suburbs. The ladder would naturally encourage match play and foster a new sense of community. The boys cobbled together some of Westchester's best tennis players to join its inaugural season. It was a massive success. WTL quickly established itself as a game changer. By 2025, WTL grew to more than 500 players across four ladders (including a fall/winter ladder for competitive indoor play), becoming the hub for Westchester tennis. With countless stories of players loving the competition, appreciating finding local hitting partners they now call friends, and rediscovering their love for the sport, WTL continues to thrive.
